Welcome to Grandha

Granda, is the Online Library Management System for library of RIT, Kottyam. 'Grandha' means book in Sanskrit. We choose the caption 'Knowledge for everyone', because library provides a way to accquire knowledge. We hopes, 'Grandha' provide a new face to library.

Government Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam is a well known college. It begun at the year 1992 with less number of students. At the beginning classes were started only for B.Tech students. Later all streams of B.Tech were started and along with MCA and two streams of M.Tech

The central library housed in a star shaped multi storied building with a plinth area of 582 sq. mts. It consists of Lending section, Reference section, Reading room with current periodicals, Book bank under a separate government scheme for the benefit of the SC/ST students, Reprographic facilities. Total number of books in various sections are more than 17000.

Library access is available to all the students and staff of this college from 8am to 5pm. It is fully computerized with on-line reservation systems. It is a part of the AICTE sponsored DELNET (Developing Library Network) program, which enables library cooperation and resource sharing across the globe.
